At Tucson Theological Seminary, we want to provide an a seminary education for those called to ministry but cannot afford, nor take the time away from home to gain a traditional degree.

We are committed to being a leader in educating and training Christian ministry leaders as an alternative to traditional seminary. We will achieve this goal by providing reasonable tuition fees by keeping the seminary overhead low and passing the savings onto the students. We also maintain the Online Learning System which will provide distance learning to students worldwide through our interactive internet website.
The seminary has established collaborative academic programs with some of the best Christian academic educators in the nation, with a global perspective in mind. We have the access to and the technology to - attract educators from around the world to teach our curriculum to students in other countries. The world needs Christian leaders NOW and it is our goal to train those candidates, world-wide.

*
Outside funding is required for graduate and undergraduate scholarships for TTS students to participate in the study programs and who have difficulty in paying their tuition. This especially applies to our prospective students internationally, such as those seeking a seminary education in India, China or Africa. Funding for seminars, visiting professorships, academic research and publication for the seminary are a priority as well.

* Tucson Theological Seminary Campus - We are growing and will soon outgrow our present location. We have the opportunity to go onto the University of Arizona campus. The cost is 9600.00 per year for classrooms and student lounge and our tuition will not cover this expense. We need your help! We are prayerfully seeking God for the funds to cover this expense. We ask you to keep the needs for going onto the U of A campus in mind. Ultimately, we seek to have our own campus with a chapel for training our pastors-to-be and ask you to pray with us for that blessing.

* Maintaining and improving the TTS Online Learning System - TTS has made a quantum leap in online learning, vaulting onto the world's stage and to become a distance learning seminary on the internet. The goal - to create the best online seminary in the world. The challenge - to create an online experience that is so interactive and innovative that it equals or surpasses live classroom experience.

These are just some of the amazing plans that are underway to make TTS a powerful alternative in seminary education.
Our campaign is committed to raising the funding needed to complete the goals set before us in providing a quality, global seminary education through our website for staff and students. The technology breakthroughs anticipated from online learning are expected to help us develop a newer, faster, more powerful education that will drive our seminary and continue to improve the quality of ministry for our students.

Giving can mean leaving a legacy for the future of the seminary

Giving provides individuals with a special opportunity to demonstrate leadership - with an investment to support outstanding students, teaching, and ministry.

A gift helps you:

  • - achieve your philanthropic and Christian goal of providing support for the seminary
  • - meet your personal and financial objectives
  • - lower income and estate taxes

Ways to Give

The following information is provided as general information and should not be taken as formal legal or tax advice. Donors should consult with their own legal and financial advisor's before taking any action.

You may give a gift outright in the form of cash, check, credit card, securities, insurance, annuities, or other tangible property such as real estate or artwork. Donation receipts are issued for the fair market value and may reduce your taxes significantly.

When making or revising your will, consider how a bequest can provide a lasting legacy of your support for the seminary

Life insurance is an economical way to give a larger and more lasting gift to TTS than might otherwise be possible without drawing on your assets now or depleting your estate. If structured correctly, your gift will not be included in the value of your estate and therefore, you will avoid probate fees.

There is a real advantage to making a bequest of shares directly to the seminary. Your estate receives a charitable tax receipt for the fair market value of the shares when they are received and your estate is not required to declare any resulting capital gains on income.

A gift annuity combines your gift to the seminary with an annuity. The seminary purchases the annuity on your behalf through a licensed life insurance company. Your guaranteed annuity payments will continue throughout your lifetime, unaffected by changes in the economy or interest rates. The annuity can be written to cover both you and your spouse for life, or for a specific number of years.

Gift-in-Kind: tangible property includes works of art, books, real estate, equipment, collections—virtually all physical objects in your possession. Tangible property may be offered to the seminary
to enhance the academic and research activities of the seminary, such as books for our Christian library. Any gift accepted by the seminary for its use, is usually delivered by the donor, however, arrangements can be made for the seminary to pick up the gift. Transfer ownership to the seminary will be in writing with a statement of fair market value of the gift at the time of the donation. The donor then receives a donation receipt for income tax purposes. Depending on your overall financial situation, gifts-in-kind can provide the flexibility you may need to maximize tax benefits.

A charitable remainder trust is a deferred giving arrangement under which you may transfer property (cash, securities, or real estate) to a trustee. You (and/or your beneficiaries) retain the right to the income from the trust either for life or for a specified number of years. The seminary receives whatever remains in the trust after the specified term, or after the death of the last beneficiary.

Real Estate may be donated outright to the seminary.

Memorial Funds - remember or honor a loved one, colleague, or friend with a gift in memory. When you donate with a gift in memory, the seminary will let the family know you have made a donation in their loved one's name.Memorial funds are usually set up in honor of a family member, friend, colleague, or alumnus. Donations to a memorial fund can be designated according to the donor's wishes and in keeping with TTS's goals and objectives. Examples include designating a fund for a scholarship, etc. Family members and colleagues will be made aware of the progress of the fund, as appropriate.

Your annual contribution can take many forms: cash, check or credit card contributions, pledges over time, and gifts through a donation of publicly traded securities.

Cash, Check, Credit Card Donations: You can make one payment by cash, check or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) or make easy monthly installments. A small amount each month can add up to a significant gift!
The following table may be helpful as you consider your commitment:

For a monthly gift of: Your annual gift would be:
$20.83 $250
$41.66 $500
$62.50 $750
$83.33 $1,000
$208.33 $2,500

Tucson Theological Seminary has the status of a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation
according to the US Internal Revenue Service. As such, contributions to the seminary by US citizens are deductible. Every gift, large and small, is important. We realize that each and every donor has different obligations and different priorities: a $100 gift may be more of a sacrifice for one person than a $5,000 gift is for another.
It is when all our gifts are added together that we can make a powerful impact.

Every gift makes a difference!
Thank you for your support and may the Lord Bless you!
